Honoring Hidden Heroes Sits Down With Kimberly Franco
Posted by MLC Secret Squirrel Blog Writer on Aug 1st 2023
Honoring Hidden Heroes is a monthly podcast spotlighting silent heroes who do important work for the military and first responder community.
In this month’s episode, we sat down with Kimberly Franco who founded and operates a non-profit called One Common Bond. One Common Bond is in Fayetteville, North Carolina, next to the Fort Liberty military installation.
Kimberly Franco served over 20 years in the Army and lost her brother to suicide in her 22nd year. After seeing the gaps in grief support for those affected by loss, Kimberly Franco took the initiative to fill these gaps herself by retiring early from the military and creating One Common Bond.
Now, those who experience loss in any capacity have resources for assistance and continued support through the long-term grief process. Kimberly Franco also works in suicide prevention and connecting those who experience loss so they can work through their grief as a community.
Tune in to Kimberly Franco’s inspiring story that we were honored to share on our seventh episode of Honoring Hidden Heroes.
