In this month’s episode of Honoring Hidden Heroes, we had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with Al Lampkins, a retired Army Veteran who devoted 31 years of his life to serving this country. After his time in the military, he continued to search for ways to serve the military community.
Now, Lampkins works closely with Veterans Bridge Home, a non-profit organization that works with service members, veterans, and their families to streamline their transition into the civilian world. The inspiring work that Lampkins does helps address the needs of transitioning service members and their families, which includes employment, care, and socialization. But his work doesn’t just stop with our military communities.
Lampkins also started Fayetteville-Raeford Cares with his wife, Alberta Lampkins, an organization focused on providing mentorship and tutoring to youth in their local communities. On top of all the work he does for our military community and the local youth, he also works with other organizations and groups to create and host events addressing different needs throughout the community, such as suicide prevention.
When you tune into this month’s episode, you’ll get to hear about Lampkins’ story and the goals he has for both organizations he works with. Check out the latest episode here to hear all the details about his inspiring work and how you can get involved.
