In episode18 of Honoring Hidden Heroes, we sat down with the Director of Client Services from Canines for Service, Lexi Green. Canines for Service is an organization that provides service dogs to veterans at no charge. By connecting veterans with service dogs, our nation’s heroes have access to the medical assistance they need to live fulfilling lives after their military careers.
On top of the service dogs this organization provides for veterans, Canines for Service also has various therapy dog programs to help their community. For example, their Paws for Reading or Canines for Literacy brings therapy dogs to local libraries or schools to encourage children to read and overcome their challenges with literacy.
During the episode, we speak with Lexi about the process of applying for a service dog, the benefits of service and therapy dogs, and how locals can get involved. Tune in to the 18th episode of Honoring Hidden Heroes to learn more, or check out Canines for Service to learn how you can get involved.
