This shroud was designed by a United States Army Veteran.  It was not solely designed for Military Night Vision devices (NVD) - though the ability to mount NVD's is one of several applications for this product.  Multiple manufacturers have created devices that can be mounted using a universal shroud - to include lights (Princeton Tec MLPS) and GO Pro cameras.  Due to its unique design (single hole with anti-tilt and securing points), the OCP Universal shroud was developed to be an easy add on to all helmets.
