They say this is a 3 day pack. They are not giving themselves enough credit. It is a 5 day pack for me. I had friends say I got suckered into paying to much for this pack. And he needed a pack to use he asked to borrow it. The day he returned it he bought one of his own and says they I didn't get suckered that this pack was amazing. All I could tell him was "I told you so"
This bag is good for about five days if you are packed conservatively. It has non slip grip to the inside of the shoulder straps that makeis it great for camping and hiking. The compartments and compression straps are great if you want to hook a couple extra things on to your bag. I've had this bag since 2005.
I first used this pack in bootcamp in 2008 and again May 2012 when I went to a school, but both times, I have to give it back at the end of training. I bought my first S.O.C. pack in 2009 and I loved it. I used it every day. Going to work, packing my clothes to take leave, packing snacks and lunches, carying my EMT duty gear, wherever I am, my pack is not far away. But now, after 3 years of every day use, it is worn out. It's fraying and ripping from the heavy duty wear and tear that I have put it through. I need to buy another one and when I do, it will be the S.O.C. 3 Day Pass pack!!!!
I bought this bag while stationed in San Diego. It allowed me to pack what I needed for every day work and also to bring what was needed for short underway days. If I packed it tight enough I was able to bring enough supplies for over a week of underway time.
I bought this pack when I graduated BMT and I've been using it ever since. I use it everyday I go to work to carry all of my work equipment as well as clothes for the gym. Now that it's getting cold, I also bring a few extra essential articles of clothing just in case we get snowed in at work...it's happened before. I use every compartment and pocket on the pack for something different. Whenever the day comes that I have to get a new pack, I'll be getting the exact same one. I bought this bag back in VA while I was still in AIT. I have put this bag through hell, literally. I've gone through so many bags when I was back in High School and College. If I had this bag, it would have been the only one I ever needed! It's heavier than some other bags, but it is sturdy and will hold together under any weight and condition. No matter your need, this bag will do the job!
This is by far the best back pack i've owned thus far it fits so much! Not only is it spacious it also is comfortable to carry on your back! It's the complete package I recommend it to anyone especially if you're in the military.
I have had this bag for only about half a year but it is one of the most useful things that I have bought since BCT. I currently am a Cadet in the Boars Head Brigade at the University of North Georgia. I use this for everything from carrying all my books for class to using it as a laptop case, and yes, even like it says, it's my go-to bag for when I have an open weekend. Had this bag for 6 months now. I've been able to use it to carry some heavy duty stuff while I'm out. Plenty of pockets, great chest rig to keep it from sliding around too much while you're moving. All in all a great bag! Oh, and the price is good too!
